Description:
Server-side Java Developers looking for the next new "thing" to sink their teeth into will find it at Aeris Communications in San Jose. You'll join a small company laser focused on the Internet of Things domain that's not only exciting, but also exploding, as it grows exponentially from tens of millions to tens of billions of devices and evolves into far more complex distributed computing and Big Data. This is an ideal position for an energetic software engineer seeking to broaden and deepen their skills implementing highly scalable architectures, as well as gain a foothold in the rapidly developing Machine-to-Machine (M2M) technology sector. You'll not only accelerate the trajectory of your career, you'll gain hands-on experience with next-generation technologies in an Agile/Scrum development environment, working on the full software stack as well as cloud-based technologies. On a small team, your innovative ideas will be recognized, ratified and rewarded. As one of our San Jose-based Java Developers, your first mission will be adapting to the pace of our Agile/Scrum development environment. In helping us invent the Internet of Things, you'll create and deploy your software into production and see results in as little as a few weeks. Top candidates will rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies. We're looking for developers who can independently create solutions in Java, own entire components of the system, or, at the highest level, be able to architect/design/develop major elements of the system. As a server-side developer, you understand multi-threaded distributed Java and are well-versed at working in Linux-based systems. Prior experience with J2EE application servers, including Apache Tomcat, WebLogic or WebSphere should include an understanding of their support for high-end architecture features such as high availability and scalability. While experience with telecommunications or Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications technology is nice to have, it's not required. However, you'll have a leg up on other candidates by knowing SOAP and REST web services and the frameworks that support them. Besides the technical proficiencies cited above, we strongly prefer a collaborative developer to a lone wolf. Inherent in the Agile community are the tenets of sharing, respect and being non-confrontational. By dealing openly and responsively with all development stakeholders, you have an excellent chance to build something of real value, learn new things, and build your career.
