Published by ACM interactions The focus of this magazine, intended for researchers and practitioners in HCI and interaction design, is on the relationships, dialogues, and connections that exist between people, technology, and experiences.
Interactions magazine is the multiplicities of conversations, collaborations, relationships and new discoveries focused on how and why we interact with the designed world of technologies. Interactions explores the utility, productivity, sensuality, emotions, and resonant experiences that result from efforts of our communities. Interactions carries a special voice that lies between practice and research with an emphasis on making accessible and engaging HCI research in practitioner communities.
Our vision begins with a commitment to continue the excellent quality of content and production standards that is the reputation of interactions. Yet a magazine like interactions can never stand still since HCI and interaction design are dynamic fields.
Our vision extends to commitments to explore new directions. Above all else, we’d like to put our readers first by increasing outreach of the magazine and participation of its readers both online and in print. We will aim to vigilantly reflect our communities by re-emphasizing HCI and design practices of both researchers and practitioners. And for a similar aim to further globalize interactions by encouraging more international authors and to promote global perspectives for our readers. We commit to include and foster viewpoints from young scholars and practitioners who represent the new voices of the field.
Interactions between experiences, people, and technology are where we begin, but where this will lead is where we will go.
